By using Mbrella Charge, you can control costs by setting monthly budget limits, applying country-specific restrictions, and selecting approved charging providers. You can also allow or disallow public and fast charging while setting up alerts for excessive costs, peak-hour charging, or high public charging usage. Additionally, monthly cost overviews help monitor expenses and ensure compliance with company policies.
Charging sessions are usually defined based on eurocents per kWh. Homecharging sessions are most of the time reimbursed based on the CREG-tariff. Charging price can also have fees based on eurocents per minute charged and/or eurocents per session started. Don’t forget that chargers also have idling fees! Fast chargers are more expensive as they have more power than ‘normal’ chargers.
The choice who can have a charging station lies with the employer. The employer decide who can get a home charging station in theory. From a practical point of view this depends on the electricity availability and the available space at the house of the employee. An inspection can always be done by the installer before ordering the home charging station.
The charging station or cable needs to have a communication system (OCPP) that can differentiate the electricity used for the company car with the electricity used for other means in the household. Then there is no extra BIK for the charging station and the used electricity. Important is also to mention the reimbursement of the electricity costs in the car policy.
Mbrella Charge has established connections with the vast majority of public chargers in Belgium. This means that as a user, you'll have access to a wide range of charging stations across the country including: Last Mile Solutions, Optimile, Greenflux, Total Energies and Blink.
Any charging session that does not comply with the company's policy will be charged to the employee privately, typically via your credit card. That's why it's mandatory for you to add a valid payment method in the Mbrella Charge app at any time.
In the shape of a physical or virtual card, a pass is designed to allow electric vehicle drivers to easily access and pay for charging services across multiple charging networks. A virtual pass is a digital version of the pass available in the Mbrella Charge app.
The supported countries are the countries in geographical Europe. So the European Union + The United Kingdom, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North-Macedonia and Albania. You can check the availability in the Mbrella Charge app. Country restrictions on where charging can take place can be set up.
Home charging reimbursement works most of the time via split billing. The system tracks the energy used for charging the company car and automatically sends the cost data to the employer or fleet manager, who then reimburses the employee accordingly.
